Emerald Isle Recycling

The Ulster Farmers’ Union has joined forces with Emerald Isle Recycle (EIR), to promote a comprehensive used plastic recycling service to the farming community.                         

This is an on farm collection service covering almost all types of farm waste plastic provides a significant discount to UFU members. To use this service members must first register with EIR. Registration forms are available from all UFU Group offices.

Plastics for collection must be divided into 4 waste streams and stored in special bin liners which can hold up to 200kg of waste plastic.

4 Plastic Streams:

1.     Silage wrap and pit covers and small bags.

2.     Bulk fertiliser, feed and seed bags.

3.     Plastic drums and containers.

4.     Net wrap and plastic string.
